Johann and Hannah (Minnie) arrived in the United States in 1872, to live with their third child, Fredricka. They settled on what is now the Otto Tornow farm, in the Town of Bear Creek on CTH O, across the road and up the hill from what was later Wilhelm’s farm.
Johann was killed while logging on the William and Fredricka Boettcher farm.
