George Babcock

George was born Mukwa. In 1895, he lived in Caledonia, perhaps in that shack by the river. In 1900, still in Caledonia, he worked as a log driver.
In 1905, George lived at home in Northport, residence A, with no trade listed. In 1910, still at home, he was working odd jobs. In 1918, with a Northport address, he worked as a clam digger for an employer in Stevens Point.

In 1920, George lived with Aunt Ida on the west end of Beacon St, New London, as a laborer-all kinds. In 1930, he lived with Aunt Ida in Northport, residence C, as her unpaid servant. When Aunt Ida died in 1931, George stayed in the house, with no trade listed. He apparently moved to Lebanon Township where in 1946, he fell and died. He is buried in the Ostrander cemetery.
