Children of William and Mary Babcock:
1908 – Mary Cass Babcock and granddaughter, Gladys BabcockSoon soon after Robert was born, Mary’s husband left the household. We never heard why. She was left to raise the children “in a shack by the river”. When William died in 1903, Mary’s daughter, Myrtle, and son, Harl, were already married. By 1905 she lived on the other side of the Wolf River, in Northport. Tony Cass points out his Aunt Mary’s Northport house in his video. When Mary died, her funeral was in that house, but we don’t know where she was buried. See more about her children in the Babcock stories.
