Inferred child of Alsina:

We have two records that name Alsina Babcock. In 1850, she was listed as 13 years old, with her parents and and siblings in Otselic, NY. We also have a cemetery record that Alizina Babcock is buried in the family plot at Floral Hill, New London, Wisconsin. An 1855 Wisconsin Census record showed Jehu Babcock in a family unit of 3 males and 2 females (presumably Jehu, Elsa, Alsina, Silas and William) next to Nathan Davis in a family unit of 1 male and 1 female (presumably Nathan and Sarah Babcock Davis). However, extensive searches for Alsina in the 1860 census were fruitless and she was buried at Floral Hill without a married name. Alsina is presumed to have been the natural mother of Mary L Babcock as Elsa was probably too old (48) to be Mary’s birth mother.
